Edgar Kasteel
Partner & CEO

In 2005 Edgar founded and managed the Distribution Division of Emergo till 2017 when it was spun out into Luctor Medical.  With the introduction of the European Union’s MDR and IVDR, Edgar started to develop a new service "Independent Importer" and founded MedEnvoy Global in 2020He has a long background in foreign direct investment, logistics and distribution.

Dr. Stefan Tuschen
Partner & COO

As a former physician and Partner with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Cologne, Germany, Stefan brings with him a thorough understanding of the entire healthcare  environment. Among many other things he was responsible for coordinating the EU MDR related activities of BCG and has extensive commercialization experience in the EU, US and Russia/CIS markets.

René Van De Zande
Partner & CCO

René is co-founder of Luctor Medical and MedEnvoy. He has notable achievements as an entrepreneur and executive. He founded Emergo in 1997 and under his leadership turned it into the leading global medtech regulatory affairs firm with offices in 25 countries. Emergo was acquired by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) in late 2017 and René continued as Managing Director through the end of 2019. He has a deep understanding of European regulatory issues.

Dr. Jaap Laufer
Partner & Director MedEnvoy
Switzerland & PRRC

Over his 35-year career in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices industry, Jaap has acquired a vast experience in the regulatory and clinical areas, mostly in Europe and the US. Jaap is a standing Member of the MDCG Working Group for Classification, and has been teaching at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles International Regulatory Affairs since 2006.

Daryl Wisdahl
Director Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs

Daryl has more than 25 years of experience in the medical device industry and has been specialized in Quality Management System (QMS) implementation and compliance, and regulatory submissions for medical devices. He has reviewed Health Canada submissions, FDA submissions, and Technical Files for medical device manufacturers around the world.

Thomas Dettmer
Business Development Director North America

Thomas has over a decade of experience in supporting medical device and in vitro diagnostic companies with their global regulatory affairs and quality assurance needs. Prior to joining MedEnvoy, he led the America’s Business Development team and oversaw strategic accounts for Emergo by UL. Following his long tenure at Emergo by UL, he worked for a boutique Notified Body based out of Italy where he served as the CEO and GM for the Americas. 

Thomas is based out of Austin, Texas.

Julian Relf
Business Manager UK

With 30 years’ experience in Medical Devices, the last 15 of which have been in International markets, Julian has significant experience in this arena and an extensive network of Worldwide contacts. Julian is the Business Manager UK for Medenvoy and looks after our new business in the UK. Living close to Manchester in the UK, Julian is involved in motor-racing and extreme sports.

HR Manager

Missy joined us in April 2022 as our Human Resources Manager and comes from Norfolk, Virginia.


She has a background of over 10 years’ experience working in Human Resource Management, Payroll, and Safety.

Sergey Panchin
Account Manager

Sergey is an Account Manager at MedEnvoy, and he joined the team in March 2022. Having a diverse academic background in economics, Sergey has graduated from Utrecht University School of Economics with an Economic Policy MSc degree. As an Account Manager, he is the primary contact for the clients, and he brings an eye for detail and a personal approach to each client.

Rachael Rodriguez
Account Manager

Rachael is an Account Manager at MedEnvoy. She is from Austin, Texas & recently moved to the Netherlands. She joined MedEnvoy in the fall of 2021, where her primary function is the Switzerland market, helping to guide clients through the Swiss authorized representative process & Swiss importation process.

Alexandra Sima
Account Manager

Alexandra has joined MedEnvoy as an Account Manager in November 2021. She is originally from Romania, but has also lived in both Switzerland and the Netherlands. Her international background aids in assisting clients during onboarding, while her precision is noticeable in the management of dataflow procedures concerning European shipments.

Karch Kooijman
Account Manager

Karch started as Account Manager at MedEnvoy in February 2022. He has an academic background in Work and Organizational Psychology at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam where he learned to analyze and evaluate different work processes. He also studied the experience, behavior and interactions of people in organizations. As an account manager, he hopes to integrate what he learned during his studies, while helping and guiding clients during the onboarding process.

Melle Havermans
Account Manager

Melle is Account Manager at MedEnvoy Global. Having studied Political Science (BSc) and History (MA), and having fulfilled several extracurricular activities, Melle has a sharp, analytical eye for detail as well as as a personal, clear style of communication. Melle will be guiding clients during the onboarding process, and managing dataflow procedures regarding EU-bound shipments. 

Pepijn Boumans
Account Manager

Pepijn is Account Manager at MedEnvoy. He has a background in history, political cultures and national identities. He joined MedEnvoy in the spring of 2021 as the first official fulltime hire. His primary function is to guide clients during the onboarding process, and to manage the flow of data regarding shipments entering the European market. 

Agnes Burema
Account Manager

Agnes has joined MedEnvoy as an Account Manager in March 2022. She is Brazilian and Dutch, born in Japan. Her international background is helpful when assisting clients globally. She has an academic background in Psychology at Leiden University and has experience with customer service. She has analytical and critical skills from her academic background, together with her extracurricular in Data Science. As an account manager, she will integrate her gained knowledge while guiding clients on the onboarding process.

Coen ten Cate
Account Manager

Coen is Account Managers at MedEnvoy.  He joined MedEnvoy in September of 2021. He has a background in military and global history. As an account manager he guides clients during the onboarding process, and to manage the flow of data regarding shipments entering the European market.

Giulia Guerreschi 
Account Manager

Giulia is an Account Manager at MedEnvoy and joined the team in mid-November 2021. She is from Italy and has an academic background in law. Having initially studied her Bachelors in Law at the University of Leeds, she then decided to continue her Masters in Law with European Law specialisation at Universiteit Leiden. She comes from a corporate oriented background and as an Account Manager, she is the primary contact for clients.

Nia Chavdarova
Business Support Assistant

Nia comes from Bulgaria where she has studied Business Information Technology.


Recently she moved to The Netherlands and joined MedEnvoy as a Business Support Assistant. 

Liselotte Andre
de la Porte

Business Support Assistant

Liselotte joined MedEnvoy in January 2022 as Business Support Assistant.

She supports Operations Team in processing customer information and documentation.

Business Support Manager

Birgit is Business Support Manager at MedEnvoy since September 2020 .


Before joining MedEnvoy she has been supporting several companies in the medical device industry with back-office activities like finance, HR, project and office management.
